Daejeon is Hub of R&D and Knowledge Industry.


The Largest R&D Center in Korea - Daedeok Research & Development Area

30 government-funded research institutes such as Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI), Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS), Korea Institute of Machinery   Materials (KIMM) and Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) are located in Daejeon with 19 universities, 400 private R&D centers. 15% of the total national R   D investment has been made to Daejeon.


A birthplace of globally recognized Industry-Academia collaborative R&D Programs.

35,000 talented graduates are from 19 Universities, including Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), University of Science and Technology (UST), Korea Polytechnics, and Chungnam National University. 12% of total ph.D holders of science   engineering in Korea are hired in Daejeon.
