Purpose

• To get an comprehensive view on the structure, distribution, and management status of all industries within the nation based on the use of coherent survey standards and methodologies
• To produce basic data required for setting up economic and industrial policies by the government as well as for formulating and assessing companies' management plans
• To provide a statistical population for other statistics, to produce basic data required for compiling Gross Domestic Product, Gross Regional Domestic Product, and Inter-industry Relations Table, to compose benchmark data for monthly and yearly statistics and contribute to producing small area statistics

• Quinquennial (If the last number of the year is 0 or 5)

• Establishments are doing business activities in Korea as of the reference period

• Establishments which meet the conditions for the survey target.

• 2011: The first survey (Integrated the Census on Industries and the Census on Service Industry)
